Since its foundation in 1874 the Leeds Fine Art Club has existed to promote and encourage art and artists throughout the region. The Club, which has included such nationally and internationally well known artists as Jacob Kramer, Trevor Stubbley and Bill Oliver, now has more than 60 artist members who continue to uphold these high standards. We also have over 50 non-exhibiting members who take an active part in Club affairs and events. The Club organises regular group exhibitions at a variety of venues and aims to have at least one full club exhibition each year. Many of the artists also exhibit independently in galleries at home and abroad. There are plenty of opportunities for the general public to see a dynamic range of original artwork
The Club also runs a varied programme of events which include gallery visits, talks, painting and drawing excursions, demonstrations, slide shows, and life drawing sessions in which all members are encouraged to participate. The club welcomes applications for both exhibiting and non-exhibiting membership. Anyone interested in becoming an exhibiting member will be asked to present a small selection of their work for assessmen to ensure that high standards are maintained. Assessments take place three times a year. For more information please see the contacts page.
